Death On 5 August 2001, Minh fell at his home in Pasadena, California. He was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena and he died the next night at the age of 85.<ref name=nyt/><ref name=lat/> He was buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.<ref name=indep/> Minh's death was largely not mourned by overseas Vietnamese, who were still angry at him for ordering South Vietnamese soldiers to put their weapons down and was seen as the officer responsible for South Vietnam's fall.<ref name=lat/>
