The trophy that is presented to the winner of the competition is the oldest in association football and is also the oldest national trophy in the world. It was first presented to Queen's Park, who won the final match of the inaugural tournament in March 1874.<ref name="SFA_TheCup" /> The current holder is Inverness Caledonian Thistle, who won the tournament for the first time by defeating Falkirk 2–1 in the 2015 final.
