Piero Sicoli is an Italian astronomer who works at the Sormano Astronomical Observatory as an Observatory Coordinator, responsible for close encounters computation of Near-Earth asteroids (NEAs),[1] orbit computations and identifications. The Observatory's focus is the examination and tracking of Solar System minor bodies, and Piero Sicoli is a prolific discoverer of asteroids. Some of his findings can be seen here [2]. The asteroid 7866 Sicoli is named after him.
