Georgy Nikolayevich Flyorov (Russian: Гео́ргий Никола́евич Флёров{{#invoke:Category handler|main}}; IPA: [gʲɪˈorgʲɪj nʲɪkɐˈlajɪvʲɪtɕ ˈflʲɵrəf], also written as Georgii Nikolayevich Flerov; 2 March 1913 – 19 November 1990) was a prominent Soviet Russian nuclear physicist. In 2012, he was honored as the namesake for flerovium.<ref>{{#invoke:citation/CS1|citation |CitationClass=news }}</ref>
