Windows 8 automatically reboot on Macbook Pro early 2009. There is an error in Event Viewer.
The energy options are set to never go to sleep so there is no workaround.
Event Viewer clearly states:
"The system firmware has changed the processor's memory type range registers (MTRRs) across a sleep state transition (S5). This can result in reduced resume performance."

After Upgrading 10.7 Server to 10.8 - OSX thinks 10.8 is the server version. I didn't install Server on 10.8.
Note that OSX only thinks it's server in "Startup Disk".

After cloning OS 10.8 mountain lion onto a 4 TB external hard drive with USB 3.0 support and a Sata III enclosure, it turns out that the computer cannot see the drive at boot holding the option key.
After testing, it's not the 3.0 USB enclosure the issue, an OSX clone on a 2TB Sata II drive boots fine.

Since Sata III is backward compatible, it shouldn't be the issue.

Of course I tried to force empty the trash but the option to emty or secure empty the trash are greyed out. OSX really thinks the trash has no centent.
I realized that no space is freed up either then as I have fast turnaround of large amount of data - THAT REALLY BECAME AN ISSUE THEN. I could deal with entering a password every time I deleted something but now my drive is asking for space.
Tried to fix permisssions, didn't fix it.
So far I have no fix for this but a WORKAROUND...
