Abdullah ibn Masud (Arabic: عبدالله بن مسعود{{#invoke:Category handler|main}}, 'abdullāh ibn mas'ūd), was a ṣaḥābī or companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and an early convert to Islam after Muhammad started preaching in Mecca. He became qāḍī of Kufa in about 642 CE.<ref name=moroney/>
